Indian daal

I will try to get a meatless recipe to you each week. This looks like a flavorful stew! Great for the Winter season! Going meatless is a kind choice even if it takes baby steps to get there.

First of all, happy new year everybody! I hope you had a lovely holiday and I wish you all the best for 2016!

The first recipe I wanted to share this year is dal. I like warm, hearty stews during the winter months!  ( which is most of the year in Scandinavia) Dal is an indian stew with lentils as the key ingredient. Dal is a very quick and easy  and it’s also a very cheap dish to make. The key to a good dal is to use large amounts of spices. Feel free to use any kind of lentils,  as a personal preference I prefer red lentils!  I usually serve this with brown rice or quinoa, but it’s also good to eat on it’s own.
